CharterJets.com FAQ
Who are charter jets actually for?
Two categories of travelers: anyone who needs to travel by plane without losing a ridiculous amount of time or work opportunity, and anyone who doesn’t want to put up with the inconveniences and headaches of commercial travel.
I’ve heard charter jets talk about ‘saving money’, but isn’t that impossible? Aren’t these jets dozens of times more expensive than a commercial flight?
If you compare several business class tickets with a plane chartered by many people from the same company, the costs sometimes can be comparable. Plus, being able to conduct meetings, discuss confidential business, and actually concentrate on the task at hand is invaluable.
Think of a team of specialists who need to fly from one corporate headquarters to another, neither of which are properly served by commercial flights.
You could lose 2 days flying all of them commercially, watch transportation headaches take a hit on their productivity, and find they can’t get enough work done in the public atmosphere of a commercial flight.
Or, you could send them to a private airport, have them in the air within 5 minutes — laptops open — and to their destination in a few hours. The potential savings in workplace time and productivity are very substantial when it comes to chartered flights.
Is flying charter really that much faster than commercial?
Definitely. Besides eliminating the massive amount of waiting in airport terminals, security procedures are different, too. Compared to the average commercial flight — including business class — there’s normally a difference of several hours.
Can charter jets fly to more obscure airports?
This is one of the biggest advantages with charter jets — if your destination is slightly further from most commercial hubs, or is rarely served by mainstream aviation, charter is your answer.
When it comes to saving time by avoiding connections and long drives in-between destinations — especially when business needs to be conducted — chartered flights can seriously help.
How do I choose my plane?
Your consultant will find the best flight options for you, depending on your requirements. Just take a look at some of your plane options, and consider what you need — are you flying a team of employees, your family, or just you? Your consultant will find the properly-sized jet and flight times that serve you best.
If I speak with a representative on the phone, is there any obligation?
None at all. Your charter experts are always available to help you find the best prices for whatever destination you need, but just calling to compare prices doesn’t oblige you to book anything. Feel free to call us without worry at 1-888-729-JETS.
Can I book just a seat on a charter jet?
The charter jet market is all about flexibility, so booking a seat on an individual flight doesn’t really work — you’re booking the plane itself, along with your customized departure time and destination.
That being said, there are ‘empty-haul’ flights occasionally available, where a charter jet is returning to an airport with empty seats, and if such a flight matches your criteria, your consultant will let you know — there are big savings to be had.
Is it necessary to book way in advance, like with commercial?
Definitely not. Besides the incredible savings in time, booking a chartered flight allows you to change your travel time and destination with shorter notice, and a flight can sometimes even be arranged with very little notice.
Charter jets exist specifically to serve the needs of people whose time is of the utmost importance and value, and we know things change on a monthly, weekly, even daily basis — so flexibility always remains paramount.
I’ve heard a lot about fractional ownership — companies like Warren Buffet’s NetJets, for example. What is it, exactly, and do you offer it?
Fractional ownership is an entirely different sector, in which companies or individuals pay for varying portions of private jets in order to have specific rights to their use.
Best-suited for companies or individuals who need the accessibility of a private jet but, for whatever reason, don’t want to purchase one outright, they offer a guaranteed block of hours per year.
If this is of interest, charterjets.com can help you connect with fractionally-owned private jets and fractional jet plans that may be right for you.
